gas gauge 4 Years ago
Hi everyone ,
When I fill my gas tank the gauge will mark full for about 15-20 miles and then stars gradually to go down to mark empty in about the disatance of5 miles

All other gauges work properly

Any idea

You might run a search for gas gauge, there is a lot of reading on it, but try a simple thing first. Discount your battery over night and let it reset. If you still have the same problem there are a couple of things it could be.

What Java meant is to search the forums for the topics on gas guages. There are a few and it seems to be a common bug on these bikes.

Look up at the top right of the page and see a text box that reads "search forum" and the go button next to it. Put "gas guage" in that box and go from there.

Sounds like you have resistance in the slider contact points on the fuel sender. Do what Conner suggests in the second post on page 2 of THIS THREAD
