I just had my first wrenching on the star tonight. I changed the oil. It wasn't bad except I made a mess with oil. I didn't tighten the filler cap enough after filling the first couple quarts, so oil went everywhere. Then I didn't run the engine long enough so when filling the last quart, half way it started overflowing.
Nonetheless, I got 'er done. She run's purty now. I used Mobil1 V-Twin 20w-50 and a mobil1 M-110 filter.
Tomorrow I'm changing the plugs. I am going to use the NGK 7803 plugs.
I love working on bikes and cars.

signal20k9: Anybody have one of these laying around that they dont need? This one is from a Stratoliner, but looks like one from a V-Star 1100 will work as well by checking some part numbers.
