Hi my name is Steve and I am a reformed chromeophobic. It all happened when I bought a used 2001 Roady. I have sense been buying bits of chrome. I started out slow, but have completed the twelve step program and advanced on to buying a set of pipes. I hope in the future I will be able to buy a air cleaner and other items. Oh ya, I live in the Central Valley of California. Near by? Shoot me a email at slatroni@inreach.com.

Welcome Steve,

It just gets worse .... soon you will be knee deep in chrome and light in the pocket.

Enjoy your ride.

Thanks Doc
I must admit, I am newly registered. But I have been gleaning information from the sight for a while. What a wealth of info! Thanks to all who submit the great tech articles. I have drilled out my pipes, lowered my bike, removed my AIS and I am getting ready to move my fuel pump.
Thanks again Steve

Hi! My name is Bruce and live in Louisville, "Derby City" KY. Bought my 05 Road Star August 1 and have a little over 1200 miles on it. First time rider and will turn 50 the first of October. (Middle age crisis or what?) Love my R Star and am glad to have found this forum to share with other Star Riders. More to follow!

Biggame,

Quite a few guys have used fishing line to "saw" through the tape. Just be careful that you are not up against the paint. Then use Goo Gone to remove the tape left on the paint.

Hey Pat,

I found by accident the other day that mason line works better than fishing line. Doesn't break as easy but it will scar paint if you let it touch (so will fishing line though). Just thought I'd pass that along.

Art,

I think some have mentioned using a hair dryer to warm the tape up and pulling them off. Not sure though.
