Hi All
Just want to say hello. I started riding dirt bikes when I was about fifteen years old (almost forty years ago) and have loved bikes ever since.I have not had a bike for almost fifteen years (not long after my second child was born).About a year ago I bought a ZZR1100 Kawasaki(maybe called a ZX11 in the USA)and although it is good bike was not what I really wanted.I recently purchased a 1999 Roadstar with 8 in over forks and an extra 9 degrees rake,Hypercharger and cobra pipes with Screaming Eagle muffllers and I love it.It has had the original fenders cut down with the rear fender frame cut down as well in a bobber style but I am not all that happy with the finish. There is not a lot of accessories available here in Australia so I have ordered a Baron bobbed front fender and a Baron Two bobbed rear fender from the States along with a stock rear fender frame. When these arrive I will have them and the fuel tank repainted in the original Yamaha black.I have a few other mods I want to discuss with whoever is interested but this is just an introduction. I read a post ( sorry I can't remember who from) who described his rides through the desert as keeping him sane,I dont have any deserts handy but I can really relate to jumping on my bike and leaving my troubles behind. On the subject of why we ride bikes I have discovered my children(18 yr old daughter and 15 yr old son)all of a sudden think I amk a cool Dad(especially sin ce I got the Roadstar)and are always wanting to go places with me(only on the bike of course).Anyway I have probably raved on enough about myself and look forward to chatting with you guys in the future.
