Hello, Need some tech advice 5 Years, 3 Months ago
|
|
I am considering buying a star bike and i am deadlocked between a roadliner or road star, now some people have told me the roadliner/stratoliner have a harder ride due to the suspension they used then on the road star, now finacing is really not a factor since i have paid off my truck so i am clean but i want to make a good investment that will keep up with the times, my wife will be riding with me so i am wondering is the extra 200 cc worth it considering the roadliner/ stratoliner is 2-3500 dollars more i just need some opinions from both sides.

I dont know what they mean about the suspension....both have a mono shock and are softails...
Extra cc and EFI would be nice...but I was a little turned off by the appearance of the Roadliner...the coughdrop shaped headlight and the
freightliner side lines...
I myself like the classic lines of the R* Silverado...
The Raider is also something that is designed differently...fat rear tire etc..
Look at the bike and buy which ever bike satisfies you in the looks dept
Then take each one for a test drive and see if performance is what you want...which one fits you better... handles easier...two up
Then ask the wife which one she likes...yep.. this helps when it comes time to dip into the bank for bling
PS you may find her cuddlin up to a Royal Star

What Pop said.
The Roadliner is better two up than the R*.
Currently more aftermarket parts available for the *.

I've ridden both I personally don't like the look of the roadliner but, if I were riding 2up alot touring type riding I would buy one yesterday. I say if you are going to be riding with your wife all the time buy a Stratoliner get the corbin fairing and touring seat with the tall backrest and you will be in heaven!! Tons of power and torque, easy to manuver and comfortable to ride long distance.
If your wife rides with you sometimes and you like the classic look go for the R* you can do ANYTHING with it! The aftermarket for them is unreal just look at Docs! I would not get rid of my R* but I would consider a second the Strat as a second for those long trips!
Good Luck
Steven

I have said it before, you have buy what you want and want what you buy or you will never be happy. Enjoy the Roadliner, I am sure it will be a great bike and alot of fun to ride!
