New from Texas 4 Years, 1 Month ago
I have been trying to stop long enough and intrduce myself since I joined two days ago. I started back into MC's after being a hard core "work-a-holic" for the last 28 years and not taking much time for me and just my family. When my wife and I dated back many 20+ years ago we would ride off on my dad or granfathers bikes going nowhere but having a great time. My oldest brother had realy never stopped riding and was atimate I find a bike about two years ago. I never dreamed my wife would be so excited to jump on and take day trips or weekend trips. She has a blast and both of us let off a lot of stress when we get away on our Road Star together. I commute daily on my bike as long as the temp is above 0 degrees and there is no percip falling. I am a regional fleet maintenance manger for a plant in Tyler TX. I manage 5 maintenance personnel and oversee 100+ vehicles.
Since this has become one of my best stress relief tools my wife and I spend at least one weekend a month on the road. My wife has two uncles that ride and along with my oldest brother. We made an OK and AR ride last spring. We are going to Big Bend (TX) the 1st of May for a five day ride.
I like to think that I have been well versed in vehicle purchasing and due to what I do for a living I applied the same basic knowledge to buying my MC. After all the time I spent reseaching and test riding MCs two years ago I have to say I made a great sound purchase with my Road Star. The Road Star Clinic network of riders has been a big help with the shared knowledge availible and I want to be able to give back as I learn.

It's great to have you on board! I too did years of research before I ended up with my Road Star. And with the money in hand to buy a Harley Fat Boy at the time. Something about it called to me. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun things to share and we'll all be glad to hear and share as well. If you have any questions just ask.

Hey Mike -

We're neighbors. Get on 64 on the SE loop and head toward Henderson. When you cross the East Lake Tyler bridge look to your right and you'll see a bunch of boat houses. None of them are mine. But that is my neighborhood.

Welcome to the board.

Sorry Mike ..... we've filled our quota of Texans.

Thanks for the intro. Hope after all the waiting the R* fulfills you expectations.

Having ridden a good number of years I can appreciated what you mean by going for a ride for stress relief. I find that in the winter I don't see to like going to work as much as in the summer.

Motormike. Didn't put much thought into buying mine. Took it for a spin and bought it. Haven't looked back since.
