Sounds perfect as long as I can find work! Cold, I like! Keeps more people away.. ! My favorite days here in CO are skiing when it is below 20 degrees or so... no lift lines, and so clear. And I like it even better when it is snowing! Now, that is not optimal riding weather... too darned icy! but it works out.
I'll give you a holler if I head that way... be nice to know someone!

Hi all, oldman rider here. been 25 or so years on touring bikes. ( every brand ) Bought my first new yamaha ( big bear scrambler) in aug 1966. I have had several Yamaha since. I just got my Roadstar July 27 2006. It is an 2005 and had 400 mi on it. I now have nearly 4000 miles on it. I love it.
My wife and i have traveld the united states and had the last bike in all 48 states and across Canada twice. We are conisdered high milage riders by many, about 20,000 year.
I need to do some suspension work on the rear on my Road Star, as it is a way to soft for both of us.
I started riding when i was 15 and am now 61. With no plans to stopping.
Keep the shiny side up, and go fast
Gary

Hey to all the RS fans and owners of the best bike ever built. My name is JJ and moniker is JJsNet. I have only been here a short time but continue to benefit from the wealth of knowledge contained here. I am a Construction Project Manager currently contracted to the Big 3 and can never find enough time with "The Other Woman" (as my wife likes to refer to my Roadie) Father of one beautiful girl 4.5 yrs old and living in the beautiful state of Michigan. Always looking to connect with other Roadie folks and glad to be a part of this community. Thanx for having me! New Pic comin soon

Post edited by: JJsNet, at: 2006/08/31 08:08

Welcome JJ.
Riding time must be at a premium with a 4.5 year old.

Yeah Doc, you hit that one on the head. Since I have been back in the town, Road passes are pretty hard to get hold of

Post edited by: JJsNet, at: 2006/08/31 08:07

Hey folks, I'm Doc from Va Beach. Just purchased (a few weeks ago) a brand new still in the crate 05 RoadStar Midnight for a price even my wife couldn't say "hell no!!!!!" to.
Found this site somehow, not really sure how, but I'm certainly pleased I did. I think I refer to the site at least 3-4 times a day as I'm fiddling around with stuff on the bike. Hope someday I have something useful to contribute, seems there's quite a bit of knowledge here.
I haven't had a bike for the last 10 years, my wife says this is my mid life crisis purchase. I've owned everything from 5 h.p. mini bikes to a Harley Low Rider and I have to admit this R* is the nicest bike I've owned (at a much better price than the Harley for sure). Even my neighbor with the limited edition Road King seems envious of my new toy.
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experience with us.

Welcome to the Clinic Doc.
Your presence on the Clinic should cause some confusion.

Welcome DocJ
You'll learn it fast. I just got mine in April and I'm already comfortable digging in and wrenching on it.
There are distict stages of Roadie ownership. The stages are:
1. I'm going to leave it stock. It's great just the way it is.
2. What seat is do you guys recommend.
3. Who makes the best sounding pipes and do I need to re jet?.
4. Which air kit is best and who's jet kit should I use.
5. OK, she's running like a raped ape!!
6. You will be helping the next new Roadie owner with these stages.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/08/27 17:17
