Hi, I also have a 05 midnight like yours. I noticed you have the backrest off but still have a bracket in place. I did not like this on mine so I got 4 nylon spacers the same width as the bracket at the hardware store to install between the fender and bag brackets. I painted the spacers black and put a nylon flat washer at each end. really cleaned up the look I think. Now I would like a neat way to cover the holes on the top of the rear fender. ride safe. midntstr.

Thanks. I figured I could do something like that, but didn't really stop to think of a solution. You just saved me some thinking time.

As for the holes on the fender, there is another recent thread that talks about some black plugs from Lowes. Saw some pictures and they look great. Do a search and you should find it. I installed a solo rack, I just need to update my sig pic.

Thanks again.

Is this what they mean by "hijacking a thread"?
