Naked or Dressed? 5 Years, 8 Months ago
I love my Roadie... so flexible. I decided to take some pics of my baby stripped and dressed. I think I like both looks. Here is her semi-stripped:
I would have removed the windshield to start the UltraStar conversion, but I had to change my tires and change the oil and it was a beautiful day so HAD TO RIDE!!!!

Oh, I put on new Metzler ME 880 tires today. My tank-slapping is GONE! Rides like a NEW BIKE!!! Amazing what a difference new tires can make!!! I think the white wall is wider with the Metzler too unless my eyes are going bad...(stipped has the new tires, dressed has the old stockers).

Thanks Mech. I agree, I was kind of amazed at how clean the bike looks without all that clutter....just looked at your profile pic. Wow, nice ride, Mech. Is that factory black-white paint? I like the look.....How hard was it to put on the mini-apes with cable length, etc?

Functionally I like my bike fully dressed, but it is nice to know I have a bike that has the ability to look good stripped down. I've never stripped my bike down to see what she looks like without all the trappings. Might have to do that this summer. I have a jeep and I love to change the configuration all the time. Each configuration serves a different purpose and gives the jeep a unique look. Our bikes are much the same.

Re:Naked or Dressed? 5 Years, 8 Months ago
Personally I like the un-dressed look. When I bought my '01 midnight it was fully dressed out, now I look back and realize how much weight and clutter I got rid of. I even removed or relocated small stuff, cut down my fenders, and re-routed wiring to clean it up. But now I'm trying to find small hardbags to mount for weekend runs. I don't mind a backpack but if she goes she has to wear it.
