S&S air cleaner 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Got around to installing the $40 S&S I got on ebay a while back. Had to do a few mods to the backplate & make some brackets to install it but it worked out pretty well. S&S has started making these for Honda & Kawa, but so far if you want one on a R*, it's a diy deal. Anyway, here's a pic. I'll post some more & larger ones on my Photobucket site. I guess a rejet is next.

Looks really good.
For $40 it's worth the extra work.

I was one of the lucky ones to grab the Thunder Mfg. S&S-style air kit while they were still in stock. Thunder stopped manufacturing them because S&S was giving them trouble regarding copyright infringement.

I'm really glad to see someone who's made a modification to fit on the S&S air cover. Great job! Take close-up pics of your mod work if you will.

:-DD.

Got some pics of the S&S mod posted on my Photobucket site. The mod isn't hard if you have access to a milling machine & a tig welder. Fortunately that's what I do for a living. I think the S&S gives the bike an old school look. Now they can't tell what I am by looking at the air filter. For more pics, just click on the link under my sigpic. Oh yeah, if someone wants do do one for their bike just pm me & I'll help if I can. Btw, Those old bolts in the brackets came out of my junk box I'm gonna' replace them with some new ones.
