Re:FL Fender mock up done 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Was much easier than I thought. Cut off the HD mounting tabs an inch upinto the fender. Hardest part was lining up the fender side to side. Three pieces of .25 inch fuel hose across the tire and a level did the trick there. Marked the holes with an awl and drilled one got my calipers and measured the same on the other side and drilled that one. Once the front was done I pivoted the fender down on the fuel tubes and marked the back. Drilled, measured, drilled. Cut some thick chrome tubing to .5 inch in front and .75 in the back, probably could have used .75 inch on both. The spacer issue is still not settled. Now it's time for (Stage 2)-hammering the light pocket out of the front and filling all the holes. Stage 3 will be paint, Candy red with black cherry scallops to mimic the rear fender. Should look cool when it's done. Plus I have the stocker on there till it's done. Here are the mounts:

What do you mean by that?? Are you saying you don't like the fender style?. I personally think the FLH fenders look great on a roadstar. I have one on the trike I'm building.

Nothd
I finished cutting my spacers today. For convenience I visited two auto body shops to see if they would weld my spacers and nuts on to the fender.
Both shops declined. I have a guy near work that quoted $150 for weld, prep and paint. I have a Nascar body fabricator who lives down the street...I think I will give him a call also.
Are you painting yours or having it done?

NOTHD...I have to poke fun at you for going to the FL fender with a handle that reads "NOTHD". Seriously...looks great, and can't wait to see it painted.
