My 'winter' project 4 Months ago
Granted we don't really have a winter here in FL, but, I've pretty much got the R* where I want her and I like to play around. So, while I have been riding the R* daily, I needed something to wrench on. I figured you can't go wrong getting a Harley, you'll always have something to wrench on

So I found a project, a 1998 Sportster 883 hugger that has a Big Bore kit installed. It wasn't running when I got it (I could smell gas so assumed it had an ignition or carb issue) this allowed me to get it even cheaper. Got it home, tested the coil and the primary had infinite resistance, so $45 to HD and a new coil and VROOOOM. Took her for a spin and the 1200-1250 cc coupled with the 883 gearing and the light weight of it really gets the adrenaline going.

Still have a ton to do, but am having a blast!!!!
Here is what I started with

This is what it looks like right now.

Not nearly as comfortable as the R* but it is TONS of fun!!!!

My Son has a Harley 1200 Sportster. I road that a couple months till I got my Road Star. It's so tiny compared to the Roadie. They do zip though.

Very cool.

What did you end up stealing that one for? (if you don't mind saying).
