Forks and Tree's 1 Week, 1 Day ago
Are the Forks and Tree's on the R* specific to our bikes? Or is there any part of them that is shared.

I'm looking at options for cleaning up, or replacing, mine as they are not looking very good. They seem to work fine, it's just a looks issue.

I hope the link works. The pics aren't there anymore but I remember they turned out very nice. http://roadstarclinic.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,187/func,view/id,937516/catid,49/limit,10/limitstart,0/

That's one of the things Im looking at. I wan't to get another full set so I can take my time cleaning them up. That way I can keep using the bike at the same time. We don't have much of a "can't ride" season here.

Thank You. I guess I'm going to open myself to a lot of laughter here, but a question about Yamaha part numbers:

I have noticed that many of the parts that "look" like they may be interchangeable seem to have the same part number except for the first 3 characters. I learned from Yamaha (a call to Corporate support about 6 months ago) that the first 3 characters identify the bike and the rest are the actual part number. For example, a few of the parts for 99 started with 4WM but many of those parts are superseded by part numbers that have the first 3 of a newer model bike. Does anyone have more info on part number breakdowns.

Not sure where your post was aimed, but I don't have a fairing, or intend to use one.

If it wasn't intended for me, oops.
