There has been lots of talk about this, one quick and dirty fix is to shut your fuel petcock off each time you shut down, start the bike and open it again, its gas flooding through the carb your most likely smelling. I don't think there is a permanent fix to that. But turning off your petcock before shut down will solve that. Hotelfox
