brake pads 4 Months ago  
I'm sure you guys have been over this b4 but i'm not happy with oem brake pads for my '01 rstar. rear needs replacing. what kind do i need? north carolina driving so heat with mountains and in town. it is my main transport (55k on it to date) so i need it to be good. Thanks, PT

EBC are good pads,don't know the cross reference # but I'm sure someone here does.

After riding in Colorado, Pikes Peak,Wolf Creek Pass,and this past weekend in Arkansas, Pig Trail in 100 degree heat I noticed that they tend to Fade when hot.A friend of mine changed to EBC and other than a squeal sometimes they work great. I will change to EBC Metalic Pads.

Yes, metallic pads will give you better performance under those conditons, and last longer, but be aware that they are harder on rotors than organic.

oem's powder real bad and have experienced fade in them thar hills. I guess I'll give the ebc's a try.

SS is harder so they wear better but stopping is not as good. I have the R1 rotors which stop good but they rust.
