Not meaning to sound like a smarta**, but I'd check as many as you can get to. Especially the windshield bolts if you have one. I always go around with my wrenches and screwdrivers to do some periodic checks. You'll probably NEVER need to check the bolts that hold the driver's floorboards on. They're held on by Yami's super-red loctite (unless yours have been removed previously).

Well, I don't have bolts come loose, I hear about peoples battery bolts coming loose. Ask Frank about that..lol.
I don't really know if any one thing is prone to coming off that I know of.
If you tighten it down like your supposed to, it tends to stay on from my experience.

+1 on checking the windshield bolts. I lost two of them the first week I had the bike even though they had green loctite on them.

When I change the oil, I try to check as many bolts as I can, especially after losing foot pegs, license plates, chrome additions, etc over the years! Of course, most of the items mentioned above rattled off my HD and not my Roadstar.

I have almost 20k on my 2006 and have not checked the valves and steering head even though I know it is part of the 16K recommended service in the manual. The bike is running great so I don't want to mess with it. Sounds like a winter job.

Yep, I removed the floorboards once to put a chrome cover on the engine. Blue loctite'd. Came lose and floorboards were dangling after a bit. Red loctite works wonders, but it is a real pita to get off.
