Hey Java,
Where did you get that back trunk and seat? My wife would love to have something like that.
That is super sharp! Was it expensive? Did you put it on yourself?

Just wondering.... the price of Synthetic oil is a great deal higher than Yamalube.... if you are not going to stretch your mileage between changes with synthetic, then why change over. Synthetic is at least twice the price of Yamalube. Also... motor oil does not wear out, but it does get dirty, seems synthetic oil would get dirty also. Unles you guys change my mind I will continue with Yamalube.

Not going to try and change your mind. If you like Yamalube keep using it.

Re:Oil Change interval 3 Months ago
Just picked up some Mobile 1 75w90 for the back, since I did that starter bearing I am going to change the oil also to make sure no lapping compound is still in there. Mobile 1 20w50 for me thanks. Sounds like I'm in a bar, could I have a bottle of 20w50 on the rocks...lol.

Re:Oil Change interval 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Crotch rockets run conventional motor oil due to the excessive noise created by synthetic. At the most they recommend 50/50 blend. I wondered if anyone had noticed excessive noise on the engine while running full synthetic? I'd rather go conventional myself, or full synthetic. Previous owner ran some yama syn blend crap that I really don't want to have to buy from the dealer.

I went full synthetic as well. Seems to have quieted the engine considerably.

Mobil 1 20W50 for the engine
Mobil 1 75W90 for the transfer case.

If everyone seems to think its quieter then I'll probably just run what I run in my truck, valvoline 100% synthetic 20w50 so i don't have to remember what to buy every time between the bikes and the truck

Make sure there are no friction modifiers in the oil Isriam, or you will have clutch problems. These bikes have wet clutches and friciton modifiers will make them slip and grab....
