removed wind shield 2 Months ago
I removed my wind shield yesterday. It took mabey 2 minutes to remove.Man what a difference it made with more power from 0 to 60 it's like a different bike.It also took away the little noise comming from the bike that bothered me.I will put it back for long interstate ride's but for now it stay's off.also My 19 year old son say's the roadie doesn't look like a old man's bike with the wind shield off.If you haven't taken yours off give it a try you might like it..

I never have mine on unless conditions dictate I need it to enjoy the ride.

Same here. It stays OFF unless I am on a long haul. I like wind in the face. That's why I ride.

And now, since I put on a driver backrest I can just rest on that and not have to worry bout gettin "pushed" backwards into my seat by the wind. When the screen isn't up one does fatigue more from the wind.

Really, the only plus for having windscreens is the bugs aspect. They don't SPLAT on YOU when the windscreen is up. Hehehe!

Ride Safe.....

I LOVE it with mine off except 3 downsides.
1 - My half helmet catchs the wind and my neck gets really sore after about 20mins so I usually use my fullface
2 - With the half helmet I have to wear earplugs or I will be deaf after an hour long ride
3 - I got stung by a bee going 65mph on the lip. my whole side of my face went numb and I couldn't get to the side of the road fast enough.

My current solution is a small national clip on wind screen. Blocks just enough wind to take the strain off my neck.

In four seasons of riding mine I have taken the windshield off twice and put it right back on the next day. The wind noise bothers me. Tried earplugs but didn't like that either. Maybe I need a full face helmet. It sure looked sweet without the "Old Man" bug zapper though.

As I said on the "cleaning" thread, I took mine off and went for a ride, last night. I hated it. I couldn't hear the engine. All I heard was the roar of the wind. Bugs felt like I was being pelted with grains of sand. I went home and put it back on... I love the way it looks with it OFF, though...

I'm with you Frank. Wouldn't ride without it. No so long ago I always said windshields were for the old farts. Now I'm spoiled and catch hell from those guys I used to call old. I guess I'm an old fart now

Yeah.... I turn 40 in April. I may not be quite an old fart yet, but I'm well on the way.

Took mine off a couple of weeks ago after putting on the beach bars. Love it without it!

Yeah, you get the wind noise and bugs and so forth, but you just deal with it. It definitely gives you a freer feeling!
