Front Fork Oil Replacement 3 Years ago

This may have been discussed before so accept my apologies if I missed it in the Tech Articles or other discussion strings,(yes I searched) but I am looking for a guide on how BEST to accomplish the routine changing of front fork oil. I am satisfied with the ride and performance so not planning on upgrades just want to change the fork oil. My scoot is an 06 with about 23,000 on it and the oil probably is in need of replacement. I am under the impression that the only way to accomplish this task is to completely dissassemble the front end remove the forks and turn them upside down to drain the oil out. Then reassemble. What ever happened to the little drain plugs that used to be on lower forks to make changing oil easy?? I am sure some of you have done it and could step me through the process and provide tips on what to do and what to avoid to make it easier.
