Removing wheel bearings 2 Years, 11 Months ago
I am getting ready to powder coat my rims. I have the rims of the bike, tires off the rims, rotors off the rims. How the heck do I get the bearings out?

Using a long thin rod knock them out from the backside. Make sure to go evenly around the rim of the bearing rather than staying in one spot.

WhiteStarNC and I would make sure that they mask off the section of the bearings

... the inside ... that's why you need a long rod .... you going to knock it out from the other side on which it is mounted.

What about the rubber seals - do they come off first?

They'll come out with the bearing, and you might to replace them anyway.
