Going to change to synthetic 2 Years, 10 Months ago
I have a 2000 Roadstar with 21,000 miles on it well taken care of. I have always used the Yamaha oil with no problems but want to switch to synthetic. Is there going to be any problems making the switch at this mileage?

May I recommend Mobile 1 or Lucas 20W-50. My 2 cents will cost you $5-$7 a qt. Not a fair trade but worth it!

No problems.

I use Amsoil 20w/50 in all 5 bikes and 4 cars and trucks, (mine, wifes, and kids).

I've done alot of research on the oil subject and the oil and air filters are key to combine with the superior sweet crude man made pure synthetic oil.

There should be no problems. As far as whats the best I have yet to see anyone come in here and say they had damage because of the oil they used as long as they had no friction modifiers. My advice is read up and try a few different oils then decide for yourself...Coug

You will have no problems, it is just like a normal oil change except you get to ride farther between. And your engine will run a little cooler and last longer, other than that, bout the same
