Maybe some new wear washers? Are these (Fill and Drain plugs) a common washer size or another Yamaha specific part?

The large fill plug uses an o-ring. Try tightening it a little more.Perhaps yours has a cut , or even fell off during the change. If you need a new one , and you don't have a Yamaha dealership near by , carry the the fill plug to any quality auto parts store or Ace hardware , and match up a new o-ring for it. BB
