Starting Issues 4 Years ago
So I just went out to start my 05 Roadie this morning. It started up ok with the choke on, sounded a little rough, but seemed ok. However, if I ever try to apply throttle at all or turn off the choke, the engine dies.

It has been sitting around for a few months and was down to about a quarter tank, so I added a couple of gallons of new gas. Warming does not seem to help the issue at all.

Thanks

Did you use fuel stabilizer when you parked it? Did you drain the float bowl when you parked it? You should have drained the tank instead of adding gas. I would drain the tank and float bowl. Then put some Seafoam or other cleaner in the gas and ride it until it's gets cleaned out? You could also take the float bowl off and spray some carb cleaner up in side to clean out any gum on the float and jets.
