WOW!!!!! Thanks for all the interesting info Gardener!!

So am I hurting the battery by keeping it on the Battery Tender? And yes, it is on a wooden workbench not on the floor.

After the most recent charging of the old battery I checked it and it was at 12.6V, but that wasn't "rested" like you said. Maybe while the bike is down waiting for the brakes to be done I'll charge the old battery and check it after it's sat for a day. And you mention testing each cell, but I guess there's no way to do that without removing the seal from the cells, correct???
