On the front right of my gas tank when I take off the speedo there is a vent tube that a rubber hose hooks to with a little clamp.

On the other end of that vent hose is the rollover valve. It's a one way valve. It lets air in to make up for the gas being drawn out but it won't let gas (or air) out. It's like that so gas won't run out the hose in case you tip or dump the bike.
