When I was younger my Dad used to use WD40 to oil his guns and stuff, after awhile WD40 will gum stuff up pretty bad. I wouldn't use it to oil a cable with. I would use something like dri-slide as Flashback said. I used regular graphite powder on my throtle cable, because that's what I had easy to get at. D J
