Acids in oil? 2 Years, 5 Months ago

Another R* rider I was talking to the other day said he changes his oil every 2000 miles or 3 months - regardless (no problem). Says when the oil breaks down it releases acids that eat away at the cylinder walls, etc.

Did some checking and only found this
http://www.anl.gov/Media_Center/News/2007/ES070803.html in reference to any acids in oil. Further checking found no reference to any harmful acids in oil, especially the synthetic.

Gotta find out where he got his info.
