Plugging a tire 2 Years, 5 Months ago

Had some big fun this weekend. Go out to ride Sunday and my brand new rear tire is almost flat. I drive it up to the gas station and put air in. I also notice the nail in the tread, but left it there. I then went a a short ride. Sure enough, the tire was leaking enough that something had to be done. I went to put enough air back in to get home and while pulling on the $*@%$*$$# rear valve (what fun putting air in the back tire). The whole valve stem comes out in my hand.

Dealer has the tire. They said they could replace the valve stem, but if the nail punctured the tire they would not plug it for liability reasons. Is it safe to use an automotive tire plug kit to fix this? These Metzlers have less than 800 miles on them.

DON1989: I bought me a 2008 road star silverado 1700 on new years day road it home about 18 miles when it was about 35 outside and still loved it!!! also pretty excited about finding this site
