Oil from cylinder head ( top of rear jug) 2 Years, 8 Months ago

I seem to have developed a small oil leak at top of the rear cylinder head, on the left side of the bike. It almost looks like the oil is coming from the sparkplug but opinions suggest it might be the gasket under the chrome head cover. Is there any repair info out there that will help me fix this myself? Thanks a million, so far I have made all modifications to my Road* because of this amazing site! I look forward to any expert opinion!

check the hose on the top for cracks. It may be coming from that. Easy fix too.

Thanks for all the helpful tips. I will be sure to report back on this when I can get a chance to work on my bike this weekend.

Took off the seat and tank to find the source of a small oil leak and it seems to be coming from the frontside of the rear valve cover. the leak is very minor, just annoying cause the rest of the bike is tight and dry. I wonder what kind of a job it would be to replace the gasket? Is this a job for the non-mechanically inclined? Is there anything on this site to guide me through this? Thanks all!

It's not hard to do the service manual gives good directions.
Just keep your bolts in order because they are different sizes.
I took a peice of carboard and made a diagram like the cover and kept them in order like that when i adjusted my valves.
Before you take the cover completley off try cleaning around the area
where it's leaking and smear some silcone in the place where it's leaking. then retourgue the bolts. The gasket under the cover is pretty sturdy and is reuseable, I've not seen a leak from there on any R* I have worked on.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try tightening down the bolts first and see if this helps. Is there a specific torque spec for the valve cover bolts?
