I have an '02 with spoke wheels.

I would be great if someone would post an article on repairing a tube-type tire while on the roadside while waiting for help.

I know....thread stealing is a sin...

(I'm sure MS1700 has a link for this one... )

If you got spokes and a tube thats what the credit card is for. Chances are the tube will be shredded by the time you get to the side of the rode.

I have the Yami kit under the seat but added one or 2 things to it. I went around the bike looking for potential probs what could come loose etc...picked he tools for them put my traveler protection rune stone, that my son made for me,in the bag with a few zip ties and an emergancy $20. Four cross country trips and 25,000+ miles later the bag remains unopened. And added roadside on my insurance...never used that either...fortunately.

I'm with you on the cheap skate. When my wife & I set out on a trip like we will next year and we plan to cover around 5000 miles I carry a full tool box. I could repair anything while on the road. I even bring my tilt lift so I can pull a wheel. Other then last year coming back through New Mexico I have never needed my tools. The best thing I have is towing service with my insurance carrier and a credit card for an emergency.
