Takes guts, but, if after draining the oil out of both plugs, take the filter off and start her up for 30 seconds. She'll pump that other quart right out in no time. I know this because I have done it.

I did think of that, I guess it is no different than starting up the bike after an oil change to get the reservoir oil into the bike. The manual even says to flip the throttle a aeveral times and then turn off.
Yes there is a difference. When you just drain the plugs, there is still oil in the engine that circulates. This is not so, if the engine is completely drained. Mixing synthetic with a little dino is of no concern. For those talking about running the oil out.....Don't start jacking around trying to drain all the oil out of your engine by running it out. There is no gain in doing so and the loss could be devastating.

I''m just saying you can do it, I have done it a couple of times when I was in Missouri and didn't have a jack to get it up and level, some don't have the insanity I do.
I wouldn't recommend doing it just for fun and you need to do it when its cold, not running temp. or you could seize the engine. Hell you could seize it anyway but I'm just saying its an emergency option and not something to fear.

It maybe possible to extract a bit more oil out by running it, but it's risk/reward thing. Risk = BIG, reward = ZERO so don't bother doing it. We used to do it years ago when I crewed on a formula race team and the cars had a dry sump system as well. My thoughts haven't changed since then... bad idea then, bad idea now.
