Nuts! 2 Weeks, 1 Day ago
Does anyone know the size of the crown nut that bolts onto the tank flange bolt at the rear (or the threads on the bolt itself) of the tank? Apparently, I didn't tighten the nut the last time I put the tank back on, and it (and the washer) fell off somewhere between here and there. I love senility. If no one knows then I'll just take the bolt to Lowes and find something that fits. Thanks guys.

I know the nut uses a 10mm socket, not sure of the actual bolt size or thread count

Usually the bolt size is 4mm smaller than the head size. So 10mm wrench = 6mm bolt and if its like most of the other bolts on the bike then its a 1.25 pitch. M6 1.25 pitch. Just guessin'.

PapaTom, I would just take that long bolt to some place like ACE hardware. They have all sorts of nuts there and am sure they can match it up.

Thanks everyone! If my local Yami dealer doesn't have some lying around, then it'll be ACE or Lowes slyguy.

I know the ACE by me has a better selection of metric sizes compared to Lowes and Home Depot combined

Not sure if you have one in your area, but true value hardware stores carry loads of metric not and bolts.

No True Value down here, but we had 'em up north. I think ACE is the place.... Thanks again everyone.
