This might sound nuts but I've found that if I put the carb in a vise to hold it or have a burly friend hold it down on the bench top makes it easier to get the crap screws out, then chuck 'em and put allen heads in. Just my $.02.

dvblair: Has anyone cut off the heel portion of the shifter? I never use it and would like to have the extra room. I would like to remove it but it looks like you would need a spacer on the shaft and I'm not sure ...
