My outside lifter was all jacked up (pictures to come) and when I cranked it with the rockers exposed only the front rocker was moving. However hte picture in the manual shows the outside cam lobe pushing the pushrod to the rear lifter, and hte inside pushing the front rocker. However on my bike it was hte outside lifter that was messed up, yet the front lifter was moving. Can anyone verify for me that the outside cam lobe is supposed to move the rear lifter? I just took a look a a dealership parts breakdown to make sure and the outside cam lobe drives the FRONT rockers. The surface was concave... As it turns out the carb was jetted to match the strait pipes. So be sure your using an oil witn enough zddp in you bike with new lifter/s ,v-twin bike oils come with enough zddp to do the job. But many of the over the counter pass car oils dont have enough zddp anymore to properly protect the falt tappet cam in your R* so be mindfull of that so you dont risk wearing out another lifter.
