Lucas Oil Treaatment 2 Years ago
Does anyone have any experience with using Lucas Oil treatment in a RoadStar? While at the auto parts store, I picked up a bottle and read the label and it said it was okay in motorcycle with wet clutches up to 10% of the oil capacity.

I am wondering what you hope to gain by adding that to your oil..?? I switched to mobil v-twin synthetic and i am happy with it as it is.. alot of folks here frown on adding anything to the oil.. lets see what some of the others have to say about this..

I'm considering using Lucas Oil Treatment as a flushing agent before I add new oil to the engine. Don't know if this is a waste of time and $$$$$ .....will wait and see what the rest of fellas think.

I refuse to add anything but oil to any of my bikes or truck but a good synthetic oil. You will find if had to tear into and engine using synthetic oil that is extremely clean. The only thing I add to my bike is Ring Free or Sea Foam in the gas there is no need for anything in the oil. Spend the extra money on a good synthetic oil. I had a 85 Chevy S10 and sold it with 249,000 miles on it. The guy changed the timing chain and gears just to be safe. He said it was clean enough to eat off of it inside. It now has over 300,000 on it. Enough said.

I have been a gigantic Lucas oil fan. I have used it in my bike...... Both the Lucas oil and the additive. In both cases i wished I had just skipped it and went Mobil one Or Amsoil 20 W 50. That's what you need and that's all you need in there. I 'Flush' with 6 ozs of Seafoam just before an oil change, i put it in, ride 10 miles or so, zip in the shop and drain. Idea flush.

I think lucas coats the clutch plates too much. Seafoam will wash it off though.

Lucas is definitely not a flushing agent. You ever seen that stuff !
It's like honey. It's purpose is to adhere to and coat parts, could quiet
down some noisy engines. Probably good in summer in hot climes as it's a
viscosity builder, not sure about it's effect on wet clutches though.

I agree with not really needing it in your scoot. I use it my Pete, 550 hp cat with over a million miles and firmly beleive in it there, but, I will not use it in my personal vehicles. I don't think it would hurt anything, but, it is not needed. That is just my opinion, and it is probably not worth .02. MM
