Cobra Drag Pipes 2 Years ago
Hello,
I picked up a 2000 Roadstar Millenium last week, it has 2"ID Cobra Drag Pipes with no baffles.. I like loud pipes and it sounds pretty good but I think it needs baffles. I get more back firing than I'd like and I am thinking it's due to not having enough back pressure. It also takes forever to warm up, will adding baffles help this?

I lovce loud pipes too......but the LAPD has a task force just for motorcycles, told to impound or ticket for any infraction. Why give them a reason. My V&H really made a difference with the baffles, I lost one on the highway and hated the performance.

Personally, I'd run baffles of some sort for back pressure and keeping the neighbors happy.

I have the Cobra Slashdowns. I removed the baffles for a while and loved the sound, but got sick of the loss of power. I put thesein and I feel I have the best of both worlds...a descent sound with a good amount of back pressure.

Or...I could sell you the original baffles that I removed. $25 + Shipping.

I wonder what the id is of Roadhouse Dooleys... anyone know?

I'd like to get a set of the BigCityThunder baffles. I mean, I LOVE the sound of the Dooleys... I'd just like to add a little variety once in a while. Thanks for the link Mr. C!

:-DD.

ive got the boulevard slashcuts, baffles removed.i cut a piece of 2 in pipe at 1.5 inches wide, drilled a hole where the baffle screw was and installed in place of baffles.not overly loud, and still have the back pressure.

It may not be baffles that is causing back firing,it may have not been jetted,my 04 1700 had pipes on it when i bought it,and when i bought my new air cleaner and tornado forced air adapter it had me jet it,if it had not already been done, well it had not been done, and it required the pilot jet or low speed jet to be drilled out,so it had more fuel at idle and just off idle, after doing this mod,it idled fine and had no more starting issues. just a thought.
