Thanks for the help guys. 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Just wanted to say thanks for the help. It was the O ring on the float needle that was full of crud. I blew WD40 through the ports from the bowl area and it was the seat port that was open.

Bolted a stock carburetor on my 1600 and gas is coming out of the vacumn port on the top/front of the carburetor. This is the port that connects to the air cleaner. Do I have a float problem or is this a vacumn piston issue.

Thanks, AJ

there is no vacuum port on the carb. there are 2 vents that are open to air. one is the float bowl vent, other is the slide chamber vent

oops, thought i stopped it time to make an edit............guess not. lol

Thanks for the response. You are right the vent on the top that has the hose going to the bottom of the air cleaner. That is where gas is pouring out.

It seems that when I turn the key on the pump starts pushing gas into the carb and that is when it starts to pour out of the top vent!

What do you think?

I checked the float and it is works fine. But I will take the bowl off and maybe blow out the needle seat area.
