tires/spring 1 Year, 10 Months ago  
okay guys need some advice please..need to replace my rear tire due to picking up a nail today..need suggestions for a tire that is able to handle some extra baggage(the wife and I)as well as a all around good ride..also thinking about changing my spring to a heavier one since i have been in situations where i have bottomed out..any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks Tim..

tires can be a touchy subject here . As far as springs go, I've had stock, HD 1k, & now Progressive 850/1250. Very happy w/ the 850/1250

You can go with anything from a Shinko to an Avon. If you stick with a 150 or 160, any brand should carry what you can pile on a Roadie. Everyone has their own opinion on what is the best tire.

Throw on a Vredestein Comtrac 175/75-16 car tire and you won't regret it.

It's taller and a softer ride, too.

I bought the Progressive 1250 spring that goes with the stock shock, it was only $79.95 plus shipping. Rides stiff by myself, but if I ride 2 up and loaded down, she's smooth. Link to spring

Oh, and tires.... I'm going to the darkside! Comtrac on the back Parrelli rear tire on the front.
