Have you loosened the bolt that holds the rear brake bracket to the frame? Some times that large part that the axle goes through will bind the axle. Good luck with it.

Never had to before, but it certainly couldn't hurt.

Curt hit on the issue I had the first time I tried to remove my axle. Once I loosened the Brake mount every thing move. Hope it is that easy. Personally hate the idea of beating on any part of my scooter with a big hammer

I cut the axle at the gap between the swingarm and the spacers with a sawzall. I dont mind ruining the bearings the axle or any of the spacers but I dont want to destroy the cush drive or the swingarm. The saw will eat the axle like no tomorrow then the assm will come out for inspection to see what is causing the problem. Most of the time you dont ruin anything but the axle. A wild swing of the BFH can ruin the best of days.

I know that there are different parts on the parts list, but if I take the entire rear wheel off of my 2000 RoadStar will it drop in place and fit the 2007 Silverado? I want to do work on the Y2k project bike anyway and commuting on the Silverado is sooooo much more comfortable. I don't have the money to buy all the replacement parts I need and I want to get this thing back on the road.
