Had Avon Venoms on a Custom Sporty. When you would get through riding they were hot and sticky to the touch. Really good grip, but I sold it before I could get any mileage info. I think I'm sticking to Metz 880's on the Roadie. Real good mileage and good handling.

I run Avons on all my bikes and have for the past several years..Had a set of Venoms on my Venture when I sold it with 14k on the them and still looked good. I have Avon Radials on my 99 and Venoms on the 02 I gave my son..Used the Metz before, got good mileage from them and decent handling. But switched in 1990 to the Avons and have ran them every since.

Just ordered another set of Dunlop WWW Cruisemax from motorcycle superstore--they matched Jakewilson.com and I saved another $15. For $120.99 shipped to my door and 9-10k miles of riding-I find it's a great tire.

[quote]Might as well start another thread as much fun as discussions of oil.
I've got about 5k on a set of Dunlop D-404s and the rear tire's about gone.
First - no, I'm not ready to go darkside! Not saying it'll never happen, but, not at this time. So, please, (PLEASE) don't tell me about the great mileage you're getting on those cheap car tires.
I had some whitewalls on it (forget the brand) that I got over 12k.
Then I put about 10k on a set of OEM Blackwall Bridgestones I got from Southwest. (Thanks, again!)
So the Dunlops are a little disappointing to say the least.
The dealer has recommended the Metzler ME880 for about a buck-fifty, plus tax and installation.
HEY BILL, MY VAN TIRE AIN`T CHEAP!!! COST $154 THAT CUT INTO MY CIGAR MONEY BIG TIME???
HOW YOU DOING? YOU LIKE THIS HEAT...

Hey, Mike. Yeah, just lovin' the heat! It was 96 today, gonna be 98 tomorrow. Sheesh!!! Seems like a lot for a non-MC tire there buddy! Just got in a cigar order, so I'm lookin' good for a while.
I guess I'm going to go with Metz this time around. Thanks for the advice and comments everyone. Love this forum!!!
