#495430 EddieDe (User) Gold Boarder Posts: 638 Help need options 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago   I have a feeling I am totally screwed here but ... I had overtorqued my oil drian plug (the rear one) so I got the Timesert repair kit. I did the repair last night but well long story short it is totally stripped out the insert wrecked the pan drain. I could try to drill it over sized to a 16MM but I don't think the tube is large enough in diameter to do that. I could try to Epoxy in a new steel insert but I don't know if that would work. I think at this point I need to replace the pan but from what I see it looks like the "pan" is incorported into the crank case. Am I right about this? I gather you tried to insert it into the existing threads. That generally wont' work. Get an insert for the factory thread size & then drill slowly to minimize debris. Also add grease to the tap to help keep shavings out of bike. And at each oil change run a couple of extra clean courts thru to flush the system out? This is more of a question than a suggestion as I really don't know if this would be a good option or not but a thought... I know it can be done if you find the right guy and will be a lot cheaper than replacing the case.
