I messed up the Barnett conversion some how 12 Months ago
Well I changed everything out and did as the instructions said to, I think. I don't think the clutch is engaging, when the bike is in gear pull the clutch handle and the wheel keeps on a turning. It may be the clutch cable just not adjusted correctly but I have 31.8mm (1.25in) between the pull lever and the cable holder but I don't have any free play at the handle. I can't seem to get both, or it's really late and my brain is fried. Maybe if I had been drinking beer it would have gone right.

you should have about a nickle thick worth of freplay at the lever. are you trying it out while on the lift or on the ground while riding? its a wet clutch and sometimes it will stick just enough to keep engaged if the wheel is in the air. try something like your boot or whatnot on the tire and see if it will stop spining. mine did the same thing after my install and thats all it was the plates slightly stuck together (wet clutch thing)

Yeah tried the boot trick earlier before I moved the pull lever to the correct position. I'm done with it for tonight I'll start again in the morning on the ground. I thought about the clutch not having enough oil because I didn't get the chance to run it for long after putting the new oil in, so I'll see in the morning when I wont get the cops called on me.

Thanks for your input.

Did you soak the new clutches over night like i had mentioned in oil. Because if you didn't this will happen. Also, did you put them back in the way they came out. Only replacing the new clutch plates and steel plates. Also those little snap ring looking plates. Are they in correctly and in the same spots. There are so many variables that this can be.

Thanks Guys, Smoke you were right I guess. It is working correctly now. I think I need to just let the oil circulate and the "pop" it in gear. Thanks again fellas. Now to ride and see what if any difference it made.

Man it is amazing the difference that oil can make. I put Amzoil 20-50 in when I changed the spring and wow it sure quieted thing down a lot. Oh and the clutch seems pretty good too.
