The saga continues:
Well the broom stick trick worked great. After that is where things went south.
wrestled with the thing for an hour before I finally got the tubes separated. The seal just wouldn't budge.
So then, it's apart, cleaned up, put back together and what?? realize the rebound spring is on the wrong side of the inner tube; so back apart again....not so fast...now the dang brass babbitt is galled up and wont move.
Busted the top cap, and buggered the heck out of the finish on the outer tube. Now I'm thoroughly frustrated.
Was scared to touch the other fork, but I did. Amazingly it was done ready to go back on the bike in 25 min.
as for now, I'm hunting another fork. Somebody shoot me.
