Don't know, I don't touch and feel the filter material, but sounds like to much info for me. LOL

I just change mine twice a yr since I put a lot of miles on her, usually 18 to 22k

Could also be from dampness in the air? Maybe also because of the material you are using?

Thanks for the help!!

I have the normal paper filter, and is damped with oil. Try to find it in CR, but no... probably eBay... was thinking in an k&n since I can wash it. Also bike came with aftermarket exhaust, so I can gain some HP with it.

About the oil, I just bought the bike and the oil is clear and clean so I didn't change it yet. I have a shifting problem and will take the clutch cover soon, so by then I will dump the oil.

I was thinking in Mobil delvac 1300 15w-40, it worked fine in the intruder I had before. It even fixed up a little of clutch slip I had...

I remember that my old virago did the same with the filter...

I am back with Yamaha and probably will stay for a long time with this bike, is great, soft suspension and good power. Heavy thou...

Gracias!

That moisture in the filter is from condensation. In your part of the world with the temperature extremes and possibly short trips it's to be expected. Sounds like the bike needs a long trip to get it all burned out of the engine.
