Probably, but for 20 bucks, I'll buy the kit.

When I did mine I thought about tapping the existing mounting brackets and sealing a bolt in there with red loctite or epoxy and then just grinding it back down to where it was flat and painting them and then I looked down and decided to use the ones that I had already bought that were just laying there on the lift table. That round piece that is in the picture is not used on our bikes. Its for a breather hole plug for some other model. Your imagination is all that would limit you in possible ways to do it other that spending the 20 bucks.

Did you notice any noise difference from the front of your Rodie after removing the AIS?

Some of the bikes he works on, look like nothing short of a mares nest compared to the Roadie. He had a water cooled 800cc something or other Suzuki awhile back, I just looked at it and shook my head.

if it´s one of those chopper style 800 intruders.....ooooh crap!

when one of them pulls up outside the shop, both manu and i visibly wince.

they are HORRIBLE to work on!
Erizo, you are NOT kidding, I had a '97 800 Intruder before my Roadie, and you are right, especially working on and syncing the bloody carbs! And that stupid little piece of coolant hose between the jugs? For an 800, it did haul ass and was very nimble.
