The clutch itself was about half through its useful life according to the caliper reading. It was slipping pretty badly as a result of the spring wear. I figured just replace all the guts while it was open and be done with it...truthfully, I should have just gone with the Barnett springs years ago but I didn't...now, I know I have a good long while before I have to even think about the clutch again

I only did the spring upgrade, but if I were to do it again, I would do the entire pack and the spring.

Made such a difference that the first time I down shifted, I almost hit my nose on the windshield.

Did not do it myself...way above my pay grade...buddy owns a local independent shop and I ordered the parts through his source at a local dealership...I hang out, watch and learn...he makes it look relatively easy but I'm pretty sure i'm not ready to do this job on my own yet. Oil changes, tune ups, pipes, carb adjustments, brakes...no problem...cracking the case...nahhhh...wish I could...when I retire I will take the time to learn

That's exactly what mine was doing ... The fellas steered me towards the Barnett springs and were right! I decided with 39525 on the clock to just bite the bullet and do the whole job. I figure I bought 7-10 years of no worries . I was real busy today and really didn't get to wring her out but the ride home from the shop gave me time to crank it up and all slippage was gone!
