Seriously; since I am in the business I have a screwdriver special for the purpose. It has a 5/8 wide blade and has had the end ground to a slight curve to fit that slot. See if you can't find a very large screwdrriver to use to get it loose. After you service put it in with a quarter and in the future you can take it out with a quarter.
