Trans recall question. 6 Months ago
I know I know, but guys I couldnt find it. I have looked for some place to see if my 1999 was repaired or not yet. I bought it about 3 months ago and got the milage back up and now am reading a lot on the recall thing. I am going back to Iraq soon and would like to get it repaired soon if it wasnt hasent already been done. 1,654 days in country and going back for more. Must be insane???

Forgot where that VIN is for a recall but I understand it has a punch mark by it if the recall has been done.

Hey Fritz, another thing to check for is a center punch dimple in the neck of the bike where the vin number is located.

Ok, so the punch would be on the neck of the bike if it was done? I guess it would be close to the VIN on the neck? I will check it in a little while.

Thank you for your service.

If it was me I would give Yami customer service or a dealer your VIN and have them check. An accidental nick can look like a punch mark.

Re:Trans recall question. 6 Months ago
YUP, just called and found out it was done in 8/07 and it has 10,000 more miles on it. So its all good I think..

OH YEAH, its a kind of famous bike also. Anyone know Freddy Fender? He bought it in 1/03 and had it for a few years. Brush with fame, kind of.

Thanks for all the help guys
