Vibration problems 4 Months, 4 Weeks ago
As before the roadstar has this vibration problem 547 miles on her, now it is a constant, not just a rpm issue, the dealer says nothing is wrong, but I have answers to this problem which I will post on Monday! The outcome of this will amaze the Roadstar family, and I hope anyone that would trust a Yamaha dealer would steer a long way away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anxious to know what vibration issues you are having. I do not have vibration issues when I selected the Road Star I wanted to feel that bg V Twin and get to know it and its many embodiments. At nearly 20K I think I know my scoot pretty well. I can even tell within a couple of mph how fast I am going by the particular buzz or lack of buzz I am getting on my hands, butt, or floor boards. I like it, help me I truly do. It makes my scooter feel like it is alive. Sounds corny I know, but to me it is part of the experience.
Now with that said, if you have bad vibration, start with the main engine mounting bolts. I retorqued mine and the annoying vibration was reduced to a minor resonate frequency at a very narrow rpm range. If she is tuned and running well the should not be more than a buzz at some rpm. Mine is most noticeable at an indicated 79 mph and is gone at 81. Above or below it is almost Gold Wing smooth.
Good luck getting the buzz where you want it.

Hey JetBlast
Do you have a good pic of those pegs mounted on the bike. Have been considering getting something like that but wonder how it looks. I assume also they fold up also, right?

I've noticed over the past few days my Yami big bar has been vibrating like crazy?? I'm still fairly new to it but I don't remember it being that way before. My question is where it hooks under that lip on the top of the bar... is there suppose to be some sort of rubber damper or something. I don't see any bolts or anything to tighten up there. It just uses that u shaped mount to hold it in place. I'm wondering if I lost a shim or something?

You might check the bolts holding your risers on to the top of your tripple tree. Mine viberated loose once and I had to retorque them. The riser clamp has 4 bolts going in from the top but you can't see them because there are chrome plugs in the head. You might check them as well.
