quick question. thanks for the help in advance 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have a manual and thus have the wiring schematic but alas I can't find the rear ground on my 2003 silverado. Can anyone point me in the right place and or a picture. Thank you. My dash intermittently goes on and off as if it is getting power then not. Bike cranks and runs so schematic seems to point me in the direction of it being the ground in the rear.

Rear ground? The primary ground goes from the battery to the top of the oil tank extension. If the meter panel is your only symptom, check the 2 connectors from the meter panel to the main harness, right where it goes down beside the steering neck.

Yes rear ground thete is a ground off the battery connects to the starter. Then there is one back near the tail light somewhere. At least that is what the wiring schematic shows. That ground wire is a direct line to the display.

If you're talking about the black dot with a line through it symbols those only indicate a connection to a common ground. An actual ground to the chassis is indicated by 3 lines shaped like an upside down pyramid and I don't see any of those at the taillights.

The ground off the battery is a short wire to the top of the oil tank. There is a smaller wire at the battery with the oil tank wire that provides a dedicated ground to other assemblies on the bike.

The only ground I see above the speed sensor is the neutral switch which when closed turns on the neutral light.
